Online Giving Questions and Answers
Q: How do I give online?
A: There are two methods:
1. Give through your regular online banking process, as you may handle other payments. Regular attenders and members may want to set this method up.
2. Give through Seagrove Baptist’s e-giving program, as outlined below. This may be the most convenient, particularly if you are a guest or visitor and have your smart phone available for giving right now.
Q: How exactly does this work? Our website is through a company called Clover. Our online giving is set up with NCS, which is the company that handles the processing of donations and makes sure the money goes from your account to the church account. But for you, all it entails is filling out a very simple giving form.
A: To get started, you can click the button below "DONATE" and then “Log In” or click on “Register Now” or “Guest” to begin your donation Once the online giving form appears, simply fill it out. Setting up an account will allow you to retrieve records of your giving at a later date on your own, but we also keep giving records at the church.
Q: What are the benefits of giving online?
A: There are several reasons why online giving might be right for you. One simple reason is that it helps you remember to give by allowing you to schedule your giving as a recurring monthly transaction. Another good reason for online giving is that it helps encourage consistent giving. If, for example, you decide at the beginning of the year that you want to commit to giving a certain amount to the church, setting up a recurring transaction will help you carry through on that commitment. Also, this consistent giving pushes us to be more dedicated to God in your finances than just giving whatever happens to be in our pockets when the plates are passed. Online giving can also save you time. The online giving form is extremely easy to fill out. If you set up a recurring transaction, then you set it up once and let the system do the work for you the rest of the year.
Q: Is online giving secure? Is my information kept private?
A: Yes. All of the information that you enter into the online donation form is secured by SSL encryption. This means that all of the confidential data you enter is encrypted and then transmitted between your web browser and the payment processing server. Clover Sites, our website provider, and NCS, our donation processing company, both take data security very seriously and have put measures in place to protect your confidential data. Additionally, Seagrove, Clover, or NCS will not sell, rent, or share any of your personal information to any third-party.
Q: What payment methods can I use to give online?
A: Currently, Debit and credit cards are accepted.
Q: How much does it cost for me to give online? Are there any hidden fees?
A: Other than your donation amount there are no additional fees or costs for you to give online. In other words, the amount you select to give will be the amount transferred from your bank or credit card account. And this amount will be recognized as your donation amount. There are certain fees that Seagrove Baptist incurs to process your online e-giving credit card or debit donation, but we do not pass these fees on to you nor deduct them from your donation. No fees are charged to the church if you give though you’re online banking.
Q: Can I set up a recurring/ongoing donation?
A: Yes. You can set a recurring schedule of Weekly, Every Two Weeks, or Monthly, and you can set an End Date for the transactions. You can also choose to make a One-Time donation.
Q: Is my donation to Seagrove tax-deductible?
A: Seagrove is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
Your donation to Seagrove is tax-deductible to the extent governed by law.
Q: How will I receive documentation stating that my gift is tax-deductible?
A: Every time a transaction occurs, you will receive an email that you can print off. This email will serve as your giving statement. If you set up an account during the donation process all of this information is stored there as well.
Q: Who do I talk to if I have a further question about online giving?
